SO Lucky!

While we all celebrate another St. Patrick's Day, Sara and I realized just how lucky we are.  Neither of us is of Irish descent (at least not that we are aware of), but the luck of the Irish is with us and our newest addition.  Christopher even dressed for the occasion today.  You can see a few pictures of him in his St. Patty's gear and other pictures from the past few days in the latest album.

Christopher, Sara, and I are getting used to our new home life.  Sara and Christopher came home from the hospital last Friday.  We were able to spend some time with the family this weekend and have spent the past four days getting adjusted to 24/7 baby operations and getting some things done around the house.  Sara has utilized the time to get rested up after her surgery last week.  Most of all, we have all enjoyed being home together as a (bigger) family!

Christopher seems to change on a daily basis.  He was already back up to his birth weight on Monday, and he continues to be a healthy boy.  He has gradually eaten more each day and is sleeping a little longer between feedings.  The overnight feedings are still hard to get used to for Sara and myself.  But they get a little easier each day.  We have really enjoyed him staying awake a little more during the day to enjoy his company.  Christopher loves his hands.  They are almost constanly moving, and they end up in his mouth a lot.  He also spends a lot of time asleep with his hands around his head; he gets that from his mother.  They are the first thing to pop out of his blanket when we swaddle him, so sometimes we just leave them out all together.  You will notice how much he loves his hands in his photos.

Astro and Luna are also adjusting well to having a baby in the house.  They were incredibly curious when Christopher came home last week, and they are always interested in what he is doing.  They enjoy sniffing and kissing him while he is in the swing.  They also enjoy sticking their noses through the crib slats to check in on him.  Astro was very excited and protective of Sara when she came home last week and is becoming more protective of Christopher as time goes by.  Luna has decided to sleep in the living room now so she can keep an eye on both Sara and myself as well as Christopher on the other side of the house.

Sara and I truly appreciate all of the support from our parents, siblings, other family and friends over the past week.  All of the help and love have made the experience so wonderful!  We will try and keep everyone updated on Christopher's progress.  But for now, we all just want to go back to bed...
