More March Birthdays

Last weekend Sara and I were back in Shreveport to celebrate with the family.  I had to work Friday night, so we headed to LA early Saturday morning.  For the first time in many years, we made our way to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate our nephew, Benjamin's, second birthday.  He is growing so fast that it's hard to believe he is already two.  We enjoy every trip back home to spend some time with the little man.  Of course, we enjoy seeing the rest of the family while we are there too.  Attached is a picture of Benjamin enjoying a recent snow day in Shreveport.

Saturday evening, we headed back to Sara's parents' house for a little more birthday celebration.  Sara's brother, Derek, celebrated his 30th on Sunday.  We enjoyed burgers outside on a beautiful evening.  We were fortunate to see much of Sara's family who came over to enjoy fun as well.  Sara and I appreciate every opportunity to see all the loved ones back home.  Happy Birthday, Derek!

Sunday morning brought more time with my family as we enjoyed our traditional breakfast at Strawn's.  Definitely a place to stop if you're in the neighbrhood.  After breakfast, Sara and I gave into temptation and broke our Lenten promise to give up sweets.  We each enjoyed some of Strawn's famous pie; chocolate for Sara and coconut for me.  Hopefully we are forgiven this time!  We look forward to our next trip back home and will miss Sunday breakfasts with the family until then.
