ISS Increment 23!

To all the fans and followers of manned spaceflight -

Today is a big day for the International Space Station program, as it marks the beginning of Expedition 23.  US Astronaut Jeff Williams and Russian Cosmonaut Maxim Suraev departed the ISS early this morning and landed in Kazakhstan, Russia in their Soyuz vehicle.  This is exciting for me, as I am the lead flight controller in the Onboard Data Interfaces and Networks (ODIN) group for ISS Expeditions 23 and 24!

> On Easter Sunday Expedition 23 crew members Tracy Caldwell-Dyson, Alexander Skvortsov, and Mikhail Kornienko will dock to the ISS.  In June the current onboard crew will return home, and crew members Douglas Wheelock, Fyodor Yurchikhin, and Shannon Walker will dock to the ISS.  This will begin Expedition 24, which will extend my responsibilities through September.  Although Increment Lead is an exciting role, it comes with its share of hard work.  I am really looking forward to the next six months of ISS work, Shuttle flights, and onboard software transitions.  Wish me luck!

As always, keep up with the news on NASA's site.
